To get a library, residents can come in to any of our branch locations during regular open hours or email us.
To apply for a library card, we request proof of residency with photo ID or driver’s license. If neither form of ID has the current mailing address, a second form of ID will be requested – bill, mail, rental/house agreement, etc.
WCL offers 4 types of library cards:
- Adult – Resident lives or owns property in Whitman County, Non-resident (lives in Pullman & Latah County), Non-resident fee (lives outside of Whitman or Latah Counties – $30 annual fee per family)
- Family – Resident card, lives or owns property in Whitman County (excluding Pullman)
- Juvenile – Resident card, lives or owns property in Whitman County; parent or guardian must be present to fill out form. Excludes Pullman residents.
- Provider – Teachers, daycare providers, home-school parents
