Whitman County Rural Library District believes that Summer Reading is something to celebrate, from start…
Summer Reading For All Ages
Residents are invited to participate in Whitman County Library’s 2021 Summer Reading program with the theme “Tails and Tales.” This year’s program runs June 14-August 31 and is open to all ages, birth to adult.
To complete the reading challenge and earn prizes, children must read, or be read to, for 10 hours while teens need to read three books and complete three activities. Adults must read three books, complete three activities, or a combination of both to be entered into a prize drawing to win one of five $25 gift certificates to a local business.
Beyond reading, Whitman County residents of all ages will enjoy a fun lineup of virtual programs and grab and go activities. Upcoming programs include a take-home Paint-A-Pot activity for adults at several branch locations, an “Animal Clay Play” take-home activity for kids at all branch locations, Pet Show & Tell on June 17 at 7 p.m. via Zoom, and a visit from Palouse Paws on June 24 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Contact 509-394-4366 or info@whitcolib.org for more information and Zoom links.
