Summer Reading Activities This Week: June 19-25
We have lots of Summer Reading activities, reading challenges, prizes, and more for all ages. Here are just a few of our upcoming programs:
Monday, June 20
- Accordion Aquarium Colton, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Create a multi-layered aquarium, complete with fun sea creatures! *Also available at Uniontown on Friday, June 24 at 10:30-11:30 a.m.
- Traveling Lantern Theater Rosalia, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Fish-fact-filled voyage to the bottom of the sea at the Community Center
- Island Spice Blend Colfax, 6-7 p.m. Adults, relax to tropical music while you create your own island spice recipes
Tuesday, June 21
- Wavey Ocean Yoga Palouse, 12=1 p.m. Kids learn to mimic sea creatures with your bodies and breathing
- Passport to the Artic Ocean Farmington, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Learn about icebergs and cold sea creatures
Wednesday, June 22
- Virtual Reality Colfax, 10-2 p.m. Ages 13+, explore the Titanic, swim with undersea life, and more without leaving the library
- Lighthouse STEAM Challenge Tekoa, 12-1 p.m. Build your own lighthouse out of recycled materials
- Scale of a Whale Albion, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Just how big is a whale? Let’s explore the size of cetaceans!
- Eric Herman Music Garfield Park 1-2 p.m. & Colfax Eells Park 4-5 p.m. Families and children are welcome for Herman’s cool tunes
Thursday, June 23
- Book Binding Rosalia, 6-7 p.m. Adults, learn basic book binding to create a Captain’s Log to keep track of your adventures
- Paint Night Endicott, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Adults are invited to paint an ocean sunset. Must RSVP, $8 fee
Friday, June 24
- Ocean Wreath Malden, 6-7:30 p.m. Adults may join us for this nautical craft and snacks
- Let’s Talk Rock Lake St. John, 7-8 p.m. Adults are invited for a discussion of the lake’s myths, mysteries, fishing, family stories, and more.
Saturday, June 25
- Pool Party, Rosalia, 11-12 p.m. Preschoolers and toddlers will enjoy water play, games, and a story in the park next to the library
