Celebrate your freedom to read
October 1-7 is Banned Books Week at libraries all over the country, and the county! It provides us with the opportunity to celebrate a specific freedom that every individual has: the freedom to read. This week we’ve made a list of a few of the books that have been targets of censorship in schools and libraries throughout history, and that you can reserve and read through our catalogue, by following any of the links below.
Check out these banned books, literally! At our libraries all over Whitman County, we are honored to provide books, programs, and services that enrich the lives of the communities we serve. We are grateful for the tremendous support we have always received and look forward to serving you all in the future. In the meantime, we hope to see you soon in the stacks of your local library.
