All Treats, No Tricks at Whitman County Libraries
Looking for safe and spooktacular activities to do with your family in the spirit of Halloween? Several branches of Whitman County Library are offering all treats, no tricks for families the last week of October.
Break out your art supplies, and decorate a face mask in fall or Halloween style and drop by Oakesdale and Tekoa Libraries for free candy during open hours. All ages, free face masks are available. Keeping up with tradition, Oakesdale Library will be handling out candy with other local businesses on Friday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
Albion Library is hosting two virtual programs in the spirit of Hallows Eve on Thursday, Oct. 29. The first event is a reading of Sleepy Hollow at 3:30 p.m. for kids in grades 4th & up. Family Spooky Storytime begins at 7 p.m. with scary stories read by Librarian Amy and some of her ghostly friends. Pick up free apple cider or hot chocolate mixes and snacks between 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the library on the 29th! Fall Storytime comes to Colfax Library on Friday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each story session includes stories, finger plays and more! Space is limited, so call Nichole at (509) 397-4366 to reserve a spot. Families are encouraged to dress up (non-scary costumes preferred).
Trick or Treat activities bags are available all day at Colfax, Palouse and St. John Libraries on Friday, Oct. 30. Each bag contains hands-on candy experiment activity sheets, supplies, treats and more! St. John Library will have bags available beginning Oct. 28 during open hours; and Colfax Library will have bags available beginning Oct. 29 while supplies last.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, Rosalia Library is hosting a Spooky Storytime event at the mini-park next to the library. Each story session include stories, songs, games, and a grab-n-go snack/craft bag. Space is limited for each session so early registration is encouraged; session options are 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Call Marcy at (509) 523-3109 to reserve a spot.
